WHAT IS MISSION
If ministry can be defined as a service to believers, then ministry can be deifined as a service to non-believers. We are being sent out into the world as representatives of  Jesus Christ.
In the great commissions Jesus said "Go to the people of all nations and make them my disciples. Baptize them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and teach them to do everything I have told you" (Matthew 28: 19-20 CEV)
ARDARA CHURCH'S MISSION STRATEGY
Ardara church has two distinct avenues for supporting missions, through the Deacons and through the Interpretation and Stewardship committee
The Deacons sponsor a number of reguarly scheduled fellowship opportunities, some of which raise cash that the Deacons then use to do God's work, both in missions and in ministry.
Mission giving from the congregation that is specifically designated for mission purposes are the only monies spent in support of missions. No missions are supported directly from the General Fund.
The choice of what missions to support from the congregational mission fund, and how much money to send is generally recommended to Session from the Interpretation and Stewardship Committee with no mission money spent without Session approval.
One exception to this plan is for mission donations that are designated by the donor to go to a specific mission. Session does reserve the right to reject any mission donations if the specified mission is deemed inappropriate for our Church to support.
The Interpretation and Stewardship Committee welcomes suggestions of new missions to support. Recently mission spending has been focusing on supporting local missions or supporting missionaries with local ties, who are working to spread the gospel throughout the U.S. and throughout the world.
